Just checking the magic number can be sufficient for RenderWare streams and other Rockstar related formats but is ill-advised in general practice.
Once detected you have to read the compressed data stream. This is done by first reading a per-block header. This header represents a compression unit. The resulting decompressed data is arbitarily bigger than its compressed counter-part, so please do not use a fixed-size output buffer. For compressing data, you have to split the input data stream into chunks and compress each one individually.
The Rockstar games compressor divided the data into a continuous row of 0x byte chunks. Doing that is recommended since working on smaller temporary memory buffers is memory friendly. It also means that, practically, each compression unit can only decompress to bytes in memory, allowing for architecture specific optimizations.
The directory has the same format as in version 1, but is located at the beginning of the archive. File offsets are relative to the start of the whole archive, not to the end of the file list. Followed by the header, there are the directory entries, containing information about the files in the archive.
The streaming size is how many actual sectors the file takes in memory. If streaming size is 0, size will be used as streaming size. The stock img files never used streaming size thus always 0 , it's believed that this mechanism would be used for compression of files, but it never made it's way into production.

And did you click Rebuild after replacing the dff file in img tool? I followed all the steps above, and before even modding anything, as soon as the "patch" and "main" obb files are renamed to ". Why the hell can't the game run with those obb files renamed as zip?? Always remember to do this! Else use winrar if your on PC.
And tried with the older img, works just fine Well, but, you are showing the file lod gsfreeway7 and not gsfreeway7 Anyway, I don't know Qua 28 Mar , This is a very early ID of the game objects, probably the error is in all objects and not only in this, lol.
I think the problem was simply in creating. Try with another IMG Editor.
